Hendersonville’s Premier Storytelling Festival Do Tell moved to Flat Rock Theater Downtown for its 3rd season. The performances were superb. I was privileged to step in to emcee the Sunday show featuring Candler Willis and Elana Diana Miller as Abe and Mary Todd Lincoln. Saturday evening Michael Reno Harrell filled the bill after an afternoon of regional tellers. On Friday 700 local school children got to visit the theater and hear stories. Read More

Last January The Storytelling Arts Center of the Southeast declared Wallace Shealy the 2010 Southeast Bold-Faced Liar Champion. In an interview after the competition and with a twinkle in his eye Shealy said, “of course I embellished the truth slightly.” The Mountain Xpress said in their opinion “Shealy exaggerates more than slightly.” The Tribune revealed that this upstanding local citizen had been caught lying.
